1. Information Collection And Use
Creating an Account and Profile Information
If you create an account, you will provide us with certain information that can be used to identify you, such as your name, email address, and phone number (“Personally Identifiable Information” or “PII”). We may also collect non-identifying demographic information (such as your gender or date of birth), zip code, school, grade level, and other information that is not considered PII because it cannot be used by itself to identify you.
On NationsRoot, we only want you to post issues and developments that you know. So we use emails or phone numbers to verify your identity. While doing this, you give us authorization to access and store your contacts information from your address book on your mobile device (“Contacts”). We will use your Contacts in order to identify other Users that you may know and to provide you with suggestions for other Users with whom you may share local issues and developments.
Additionally, if you invite a Contact to the service by tapping invite beside their name, we will send an invitation on your behalf via email or notifications on mobile. This will include your name and sometimes the recipients name, along with a link to the website and the app. You agree that the Contacts who you invite to NationsRoot are ages 16 or over and are eligible to sign up for NationsRoot.
Use of Your Information
Our primary goals in collecting information are to provide and improve our Services, to administer your use of the Services (including your account, if you are a User), and to enable you to enjoy and easily navigate our Services. In addition, we may use your information to send you information about our Services, respond to your requests and facilitate your use of the Services. We may also use your information to send you email and notification that directly promote our Services. However, we will aim to minimize any direct contact.
Our primary goals in providing analytics of constituency or politicians and social media analytics of politicians are to give details of trending hashtags, keywords, status of local area or community or constituency and locations of politicians. This data is publicly available using the APIs of respective social media networks. We are displaying those details in proper format which can be understood easily and can not be copied by others. In no way you are allowed to exploit the service, attempt to hack the service, access unauthorized social media analytics data, or use NationsRoot for commercial purposes, unless authorized in writing from NationsRoot. You may not reverse engineer or decompile the analytics or create any unauthorized service that ties into NationsRoot without permission. The legal action will be taken against any person or any entity or any third party for any illegal or above stated behavior.
In addition to profile information, we may access your location by converting your IP address into a rough geolocation or by accessing your mobile device’s GPS coordinates or coarse location. We only use this information to determine if you are within a state where NationsRoot is available and to find related updates within local community and related to issue and development. Following your politicians allows you to find local updates more easily and show your political network your basic requirements. If you do not want us to have access to your location information after signing up, you may disable this feature and it will not impact your service. However, it is necessary during the initial registration process.
We use “Cookie” technology to collect additional information, including usage data to provide and improve our Services. A Cookie is a small data file that is placed on your computer’s hard disk when you access our Services. NationsRoot Inc may use both session Cookies and persistent Cookies to identify that you’ve logged in to the Services, to better understand how you interact with our Services, to monitor aggregate usage and web traffic routing on our Services and to customize and improve our Services. Unlike persistent cookies, session Cookies are deleted when you log off from the Services. Most Internet browsers automatically accept Cookies. If you do not want cookies from NationsRoot Inc or other services, you can change your settings to stop accepting Cookies or to prompt you before accepting a cookie from the services you visit. However, some Services may not function properly if you disable Cookies.
“Web Beacons” (also known as web bugs, pixel tags or clear GIFs) are tiny graphics with a unique identifier that may be included on our Services for several purposes, including to deliver or communicate with Cookies, to track and measure the performance of our Services, to monitor how many visitors view our Services, and to monitor the effectiveness of our advertising. Unlike Cookies, which are stored on the user’s hard drive, Web Beacons are typically embedded invisibly on web pages (or in an e-mail).
Our servers automatically record information (“Log Data”) created by your use of the Services. Log Data may include information such as your IP address, browser type, operating system, location, your mobile carrier, device and application IDs, the Users with whom you chat, access date and time spent on features of the Services and other statistics and Cookie information. We receive Log Data when you interact with our Services, for example, when you visit our websites, sign into our Services, add issues or developments, or interact with our email notifications. NationsRoot Inc uses Log Data to provide our Services and to measure, customize, and improve them. For instance, NationsRoot Inc may provide you with recommendations based on your use of the Services.
